At the end of the course, the vet will know more about the link between mind and body in dogs and cats and will learn how to differentiate behavior problems from medical problems. |
| Résumé |
In humans the relationship between body and mind has been studied throughout the last decades. Many correlations were investigated and well documented. In our companion animals this relation has been only studied more recently with diseases like the intersticial cystitis in cats and some types of enteritis in dogs. But there are many other situations were this link can be found. However, the influence of certain pathologies in the animal's behavior is also a possibility. There are many pathologies that will change the animal behavior and some problems that could look like behavior have its origin in a different system. Despite this, when we are treating these animals, will we treat only the behavior? Will we treat only the specific pathology? Or will we treat both?
